We announce the death of Gervis Connelly Showalter of Georgetown, Kentucky, who passed away on September 24, 2026, at the age of 85. Gervis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Showalter and Freeman Showalter; and his sisters, JoNell Walker and Brenda McCrystal. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Smith Showalter; his children, Ginger Saker (Ed), David Showalter (Lori) and Mark Showalter (Crystal); his brother Bruce Huffman (Sharen); his sister-in-law Marybelle Morgan; his cousin Linda Lankford; and his caregivers, Rita Epperson and Wilma Scott. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the First Christian Church (112 E College St, Georgetown, KY 40324). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
