He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Frank Steenbergen and Mattye Jackson Steenbergen; his brother James Franklin Steenbergen; his nephew Eric Franklin Steenbergen; and his parents-in-law, William and Christine Atnip.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte K. Steenbergen; his children, Todd Steenbergen (Ann) and Julie Smith (Brent); his grandchildren, Ashley Steenbergen Elrod (Tanner) of Ohio, Spencer Steenbergen of Bowling Green, Emma Kate Smith and Lane David Smith of Glasgow; his nieces and nephews, Dirk Steenbergen (Bethany) of Lucas, Gerrit Steenbergen (Lindsay) of North Carolina, Trey Just of Indiana, Inga Steenbergen of North Carolina and Sara Just of Bowling Green; his great-nephew Eric A. Steenbergen of California; and his sisters-in-law, Lorena Steenbergen of Lucas and Patricia Just (Paul) of Bowling Green.
In keeping with the Governor's recommendations for safety during funeral and memorial services, the number of attendees in the funeral home at any given time will be limited; no food permitted in the lounge; social distancing will be necessary; and face coverings are required.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hosparus Health Barren River in Bowling Green. The family would like to give a special thanks to those who assisted in Michael's care during his struggle with Parkinson's Disease.
