He was predeceased by: his father Dr. George Whiteside. He is survived by: his wife Mary Emma "Cookie" Whiteside; his children, Jane Ann Dempsey (Mike) of Asheville, NC, Julie Hires (Sonny) of Atlanta, GA and Dr. Will Whiteside (Sara) of Glasgow, KY; his grandchildren, Harlan and Emma Rose Dempsey; his children, Edward, Mary Bea, Bridget Hires, Cook, Hayes and Avett Whiteside; and his siblings, Dr. Jim Whiteside and Ann Dickson (Bob) of Lexington.
