He is survived by: his mother Doris Gilpin Byrd; his pet Millie Jane; his wife Marla Gillon Byrd; his sons, Nick and Tim Wood; his grandson Benny Wood; his brother Collie Byrd (Rose Mary); and his friend Bethel. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
