She was predeceased by : her husbands, Woodrow W. Simmons and Johnnie W. Taylor; her son Woodrow "Woody" Simmons; her brother Ray John Smith; and her grandson Jon Brandon Taylor.

She is survived by : her son John W. Taylor (Berna) of Bowling Green; her grandchildren, Ashley Taylor of Bowling Green and Grant Taylor of Bowling Green; her brother Ed Smith of Glasgow; her daughter-in-law Ann Simmons of Frankfort; and her nieces, Lisa Smith Holman (Becky Smith Kingrey) of Bowling Green and Patti Broom (Kathy England) of Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to College Heights Foundation at Western Kentucky University or the Mary Wood Weldon Library.
