James Otis’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd S. Cox and Alice Joy Adkins Cox; and his stepmother Faye Cox. He is survived by: his wife Francis Jean Haney Cox; his daughters, Angela Renee "Angie" Payne (John) of Catlettsburg and Stacey Walton (Aaron) of Upper Sandusky, OH; his stepsons, James Robert "Jimmy" Cox of Willard, Dustin Lee Cox (Ashley) of Willard and Brandon Bayes of Greenup; and his siblings, Becky Oney of Olive Hill, Christy Cox of Grahn and Tommy Cox of Grahn. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, with another grandchild.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, October 30th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Malone Funeral Home (325 Malone Ln, Grayson, KY 41143).
