He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Buck" Edwin, Sr. and Jeanette Andrus Jones; and his grandparents, Claude, Claudine Jones, R. E. and Julia Andrus.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Faye Smoker Jones; his children, Angela Clay (Dan) of Grayson, Brian Jones (Leslie) of Lexington and Eric Jones (Natasha) of Louisville; his grandchildren, Abigail Marshall (Trevor), Thaddeus Clay, John-Clinton Larson Jones, Adler Jones, Zoey Jones and Ethan Jones; his great grandchildren, Judah Marshall and Maeve Marshall; and his siblings, James Jones, Jr. (Arleen Johnson), Mary Ann Stonecipher (Lowell) and Jan Andrus Jones.
