He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Hicks and Martha Ellen Heaberlin Hicks; his sisters, Barbara Berger and Diana Memach; his grandsons, Travis Spencer and Drexel L. Duncan; and his great grandchild Drexel Ketith Duncan.
He is survived by: his children, Michael W. Hicks (Julie) of Tollsboro, Ronetta L. Cremeans of Greenup, Jerrie L. Mitchell of Greenup and April R. Knipp (Glenn) of Greenup; his siblings, Charles Hicks, Marvin Hicks, Helena Foster, Polly Cox, Donna White, Roger Hicks and Jackie Hicks; and his grandchildren, Timothy W. Duncan, Brian K. Duncan, James J. Duncan Jr., Cody Hicks, Mark Hicks, Chevelle Hicks, Michael Hicks, Monica Halsey, Caitlin Halsey, Allison Halsey, Xavier Hicks, Sabrina Baker, Skyler Dawson, Reagan Hicks, Mason Hicks, Asher Hicks and Derrick Spencer. He is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
