He was predeceased by: his parents, Dempsey Edward and Mary Margaret Jones Shively; his mother-in-law Lucille Thornton; and his siblings, Valeria Shively, Shearion Johnson, Jerri Phillips, Kenneth and Steven Shively.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Thornton Shively of Greensburg; his daughters, Candace Thornton of Greensburg, Tracy Page (Jimmy) of Summersville, KY and Aurra Griffith of Louisville, KY; his sister Sandra Shively of Campbellsville, KY.; and his grandchildren, Jalen and JeRon Thornton of Lexington, KY. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 7:00 AM at the Foster-Toler Curry Funeral Home (209 W Court St, Greensburg, KY 42743). A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 at the Green County Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The family has requested that expressions of sympathy be donations to the Gideon Bible Fund and those can be made at the funeral home.
