He was predeceased by: his parents, Claud Shofner and Georgia Alice Dobson Shofner; his son Derrick Jason Shofner; and his brother Edward Lee Shofner. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Shofner; his sons, Dusty Shofner (June) of Columbia and Adam Shofner (Ann Calhoon) of Greensburg; his grandchildren, Dustin Shofner, Tara Ervin (Jared), Jason Shofner (Megan), Baylee Bills (Grayson) and Kinsy Davis (Jordon); his great grandchildren, Kiley Ervin, Zack Ervin, Grady Shofner, Baker Bills, Brody Davis, Griffey Shofner and Jenna Bills; his sister Laverne Bale (Bobby) of Louisville; and his sister-in-law Emma Lynn Shuffett (Mel) of Greensburg. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 6th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Monday, September 7th 2026 from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home (206 S Main St, Greensburg, KY 42743). A funeral service was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, September 7th 2026 at the Bloyd Perkins Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the Bloyd-Perkins Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
