He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ann Scaggs Nelson; his daughters, Melissa Donovan (John van Rensburg) of Hixson and Amy Boggs (Matt) of Greenup, Kentucky; his brother Marvin Nelson (Barb) of Lloyd, Kentucky; and his grandchildren, Lucas Boggs and Hailey Boggs. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
