He is survived by: his parents, Dewayne Yates and Cheri Vernon; his wife Martha Yates; his son Dewayne Yates-Purkeypyle; his son-in-law Daniel Purkeypyle; his daughter Abbrielle Yates; his daughter-in-law Amber Belcher-Yates; his grandson Asher Yates; his parents-in-law, Clifford Perkins, Teresa Perkins and Patricia Spears; his pet Buddy; his brother Steve Akers; his aunt Joyce; his uncle Bill; and his friends, David Lewis, Shane Bayes and Jeff Smith.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bailey Family Funeral Home (2110 Argillite Rd, Flatwoods, KY 41139). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at the Short White Oak Cemetery.
