He was predeceased by: his father Roy Lee Abdon; his former wife Pam Abdon; and his stepson Seth Bartley. He is survived by: his wife Regina Abdon; his children, Dr. Brandon Abdon (Angela Brown) of Owensboro, Joseph Abdon of Ashland and Holly Abdon of Covington; his stepdaughters, Sarah (Shannon Mullins) of Pikeville and Amelia (Imran Aslam) of Louisville; his grandsons, Hilton Abdon, Dorian Abdon, Hunter Mullins (Anna), Jude Mullins and Reed Mullins; his great grandchild Lorelei Mullins; his mother Carroll Abdon of Greenup; and his brother David Abdon (Kathy) of Greenup. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
