He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Glenn Tipton and Iva Marena Tipton (Travis); and his siblings, Roy Clay Tipton and Donna Higgins. He is survived by: his wife Valery Tipton of Hopkinsville, KY; his daughter Tana Lynn Edwards (John) of Hopkinsville, KY; his siblings, Thomas Ray Tipton of Owensboro, KY, Judy Dickerson of Christian County, KY, Karen Lee Tipton of Greenville, SC and Frances Bishop of Spartanburg, SC; his grandchildren, Bryn Hightower (Amber), Ethan Edwards (Colleen), Zoe Layne Edwards and Sadie Lynn Edwards; and his great grandchildren, Elzie Bryn Hightower, Ada Lee Hightower and Oaklynn Mae Edwards.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Second Baptist Church (720 W 7th St, Hopkinsville, KY 42240). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
