She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnnie Wells and Beulah Petrie Wells; and her husband Billy Faye Gates. She is survived by: her children, Patricia Mahlosky (Bobby) of Greenville, KY and Barry Gates of Calhoun, KY; and her grandchildren, Jarrod Gardner (Mitzi) of Greenville, Matt Gardner (Amy) of Greenville, Chad Mahlosky (Stephanie) of Greenville and Lindsey Witten of Greenville. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
