He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph H. Cantrell, Sr. and Ruby Mae Hightower; his wife Rosemary Miller Cantrell; his son Carlton Cantrell Jr.; his grandson Clark Andrew Cantrell; his siblings, Frances Fusselle, Joseph H. Cantrell, Jr. and Floyd E. Cantrell; and his son-in-law Robb Farmer.
He is survived by: his children, Kenneth, Kevin, Kirk Cantrell and Kathy Cantrell Farmer; his granddaughter Kira Marie Cantrell; and his brother Thomas A. Cantrell. He is also survived by six nieces and two nephews.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the Resthaven Cemetery (3000 State Hwy 840, Keith, KY 40806).
Carlton L. Cantrell educator and mining geologist, entered paradise on Monday morning, September 7, 2026 while at home in Gulston following a six year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
