He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Mingus and Betty Hall Mingus; his wife Katsuko Mingus; and his siblings, Anna Crawford, Virginia Heina, Mable Ree Kays, Norma Jean Kerekes, Junior Mingus and Charles Mingus.
He is survived by: his sons, Eddie Mingus and John Mingus (Debbi); his grandchildren, Allyson Hewitt (Eddie), Taylor Mingus and Nicole Mingus (Kaleb); his great grandchildren, Henry Hewitt and Lilith Barbour; his siblings, Mary Jo Carter and Merl Mingus; and his close friend Brenda Pate. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
