We are sad to announce that on May 31, 2025, at the age of 79, Betty Simpson in Harlan, Kentucky, born in Addison, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Betty is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Betty's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her husband Levi Simpson; and her parents, Jim Baker and Verner Baker. She is survived by: her daughter Beverly Simpson-Gumm (David); her grandson Dylan Simpson; her great grandchild Shayley Simpson; her close friend Abby Pennington; and her siblings, Jewel, Brenda and Jerry.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Home (122 N Cumberland Ave, Harlan, KY 40831). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 3rd 2025 at the Resthaven Cemetery.
