It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marilyn Ward Unthank of Harlan, Kentucky, who passed away on October 30, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Marilyn leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Viola Denham Ward and William Lee Ward; and her siblings, Bill Ward, Denham Ward, Thomas Ward (Tommy) and Carol Ward Craine.
She is survived by: her brother Wesley "Buddy" Ward (Bette) of Jacksonville, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests expression of sympathy be in the form of donations to Harlan First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1734, Harlan, or to a favorite charity.
