He was predeceased by: his parents, Orbe Tackett and Marmie Tackett (Roberts); and his siblings, Marcella White, Richard, Orville, Gary Tackett and John Holt.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Tackett (Goforth) of Harrodsburg; his sons, Randy Tackett (Karen) and James Tackett (Tina Boyd); and his sisters, Pat Yeast (Donnie Phillips), Linda Shewmaker (Dennis), Jean Compton and Joyce Hall. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
