He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Springate and Rebecca Gillis Springate; and his siblings, J. W. Springate, Bobby Springate, Clinton Ray Springate and Bonnie Ackley.
He is survived by: his wife Pat Springate; his daughter Sharon Bunch (Joe) of Landrum, SC; Mariano and Celia Flores. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
