He is survived by: his wife Carrie Darland Carpenter; his stepsons, Joshua Dale Vinyard of Harrodsburg and Joseph Vinyard (Danielle) of Harrodsburg; his brother James Carpenter (Pat) of Lancaster; his stepgrandchildren, Kailey Vinyard and Mason Vinyard; and his nephews, Cameron and Carlos Carpenter.
