With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Carol Ann Mitchell of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 10, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Bonta and Alice Bonta. She is survived by: her children, Edwin Hankla (Carla) of Danville, KY and Leslie Hankla of Lexington, KY; her stepdaughter Tammy Hargrave; her grandchildren, Alex Hargrave and Jordan Giuliani (Chris); her sister Diane Fallis of Lexington; her nieces and nephews, Lloyd, Kie Fallis and Elizabeth Lewis (Buddy); her great-nephew Zachary of Richmond, KY.; her husband Major John M. Mitchell; her sister Billie Jo; her brother-in-law Jerry Johnson; her niece Suzanne Johnson Hamm; her great-niece Alyssa Hamm; and her great-nephew Ryan Lewis.
Carol's children would like to request that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Fayette County Humane Society in her honor.
