She was predeceased by: her husband James "Buffalo" Carey; her parents, Fred Peavler and Ethel Vanarsdell Peavler; and her siblings, JP Peavler, Elizabeth "Lig" Disponett and Lela Brumback.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki Jean Sterling (Terry) of Portland, TN., Ricky Dale Carey (Kathy) of Stanford and Jeffery Todd Carey (Ariane Ulrich) of Bardstown; her sister Doris Freeman of Lexington; and her grandchildren, Amber Carey, Brandi Carey, Rick Carey, Jr., Josh Carey and Jason Carey. She is also survived by several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
