He was predeceased by : his parents, Omer S. Hensley and Shirley Smith Hensley; and his sisters, Nancy Hensley and Lois G. Baker. He is survived by : his wife Tanya Cheatham Hensley; his children, Lindsey Shepherd and Nathan P. Hensley of Harrodsburg; his grandchildren, Camdyn Graves of Harrodsburg and Cyann Graves of Harrodsburg; his siblings, Paula Crowley of Harrodsburg, Winfred Hensley of Williamstown, Paul Hensley (Eva) of Burgin and Keith Hensley (Kathie) of Burgin; and his pets, Minnie, Zoie and Merlin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.

Visitation was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Carpenter's Christian Church (1340 US-127 BYP, Harrodsburg, KY 40330). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 25th 2024 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
