He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vernon Cotton and Annie Laurie Dadisman (Cloren); and his stepfather Burnett Dadisman. He is survived by: his sons, Craig Cotton (Sarah) of Crestwood, KY and Shawn Cotton (Shatun) of Houston, TX; his stepsons, Troy McGinnis (Kelly) of Harrodsburg, KY and Eric McGinnis (Kim) of Harrodsburg, KY; and his grandchildren, Landon, Laci, Claire, Laura, Charlotte, Veyda, Alexandra and Maxine.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 9th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel (345 E Lexington St, Harrodsburg, KY 40330).
