She was predeceased by: her parents, Elijah Powell and Treva Lee Yates (Woods); and her siblings, Elijah B., Cleo Yates, Rowena Norton and Neva Wallace.

She is survived by: her husband Carl E. VanArsdall; her children, Tina LoSapio (Joe) and Ricky VanArsdall (Stephanie) of Harrodsburg, KY; her brother Don Billy Yates of Harrodsburg; and her grandchild Liberty Agan.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church (1545 Talmage-Mayo Rd, Harrodsburg, KY 40330). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 3:15 PM at the Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery (1545 Talmage-Mayo Rd, Harrodsburg, KY 40330).
