It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Marlene Schlenther of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, born in Girard, Illinois, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Mary Marlene farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Marlene is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her husband Richard Schlenther; and her parents, Howard Miller and Iva Miller. She is survived by: her brother Gary Miller of Springfield, IL; and her sons, Rick Schlenther (Steve) of Whitefish Bay, WI, Jeff Schlenther (Rose) of Springfield, IL and Kurt Schlenther (Ginger) of Nicholasville, KY. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Kerr Brothers Funeral Home - Harrodsburg Rd (3421 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington, KY 40513). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at the Wilmore Cemetery.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to one of the following: Samaritans Purse or Wesley Village Benevolent Fund.
