He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Robert and Mable Gray Carpenter; and his siblings, Jimmy Carpenter, Barbara Strevels, Jean Reynolds and Connie Gibson.
He is survived by: his wife Brenda Peavler Carpenter; his son Brian Carpenter (Jennifer) of Nicholasville; his grandson Corey Brandon Carpenter of Boyle County; and his great grandchildren, Arleigh and Millicent Carpenter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
