He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Edward and Bertha Mae Montgomery Parnell; and his siblings, Larry Edward Parnell, Michael Gayle Parnell and Linda Lou Phelps.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Coffman Parnell; his children, Tina Stratton (late Tim) of Parksville, Melissa Parnell Gribbins (Chris) of Harrodsburg and Charlie Ritchie of Lexington; his siblings, Elmer Parnell (Carol) of Cincinnati, Pat Penwell of Harrison, IN, Debbie Cox of Sunrise, IN, Theresa Schumann of Moores Hill, IN, Darla Miller of Vevay, IN and Annette Parnell of Moores Hill, IN; his grandchildren, Jake Conley, Eric Newby (Brittany), Hannah Moore (David), Nate Stratton and Jessica Holt (Patrick); and his great grandchildren, Lexi, Terry Lee, LeeAnn, Annaleigh, Isaac, Jace, Landen E., Braylen, Ava, Abel, Ellie, Corbin, Maverick, Lance and Landon R.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
