He was predeceased by : his parents, Russell Hurd, Sr. and Alma Lee Duke Hurd; and his sisters, Betty McLimore and Barbara Foster. He is survived by : his wife Helen Elizabeth Watson Hurd; his children, Gerald Ray Hurd (Erica), Denise Elizabeth Hurd and Angela Hurd; his son-in-law Joe Hunt; and his grandchildren, Trece Fulks, Olivia Gambrel (Reid Stewart), Keon Little, Kelsi Sowders (Charles), Tori Rae Hurd, Shawn Hunt and Gillian Hunt. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
