He was predeceased by : his parents, Reuben A. Byler and Emma S. Byler; his brother Reuben Byler, Jr.; and his nephews, Sammy Byler and Jerry Byler.

He is survived by : his wife Mary; his children, Emma Sue Mast (Robert), Irene Byler (Henry Adam), Samuel Byler (Rebecca), Magdalena Detweiler (Joe), Steven Byler (Barbara) and Regina Ann Yoder (Aden); and his siblings, Andy Byler (Lena), Lydia Miller (Homer), Simon Byler (Sarah), Joe Byler (Elizabeth), Samuel Byler (Naomi), Lester Byler (Laura) and Danny (Miriam). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren.
