It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brenda Akemon of Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Leonard Jones and Clyda Gayheart Jones; her husband Howard Akemon; her siblings, Paula Rogers and Chester Jones; and her niece Kara Leann Jones.
She is survived by: her nieces and nephews, Kris Jones (Michelle), Keenan Akemon (Dionna), Carri Fala, Jeanna Hainer and Laura Stinson; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Taelin, Kassidy, Kacyn Jones, Kaylee, Lindsey Sizemore, Kaden Miller, Kyle Bailey, Rudy Akemon and Sydney Ali.
