He is survived by: his wife Barbara Gail McDaniel Gilbert; his stepchildren, Angela Kay Hewins (Marty) and Charles Goebel O'Steen; his children, James R. Deron Gilbert (Toshimi), Carla A. Gilbert and Johna Gail Gilbert-Barefield (Larry); and his sisters, Mona Whaylen and Billie Jean Parker. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews.
