He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Simpson and Martha Simpson (Hubbard); and his sister Brenda Burch. He is survived by: his wife Pauline Simpson (Abner) of Booneville, KY; his children, James Neil Simpson (Ashley) and Amber Dawn McElwain (Matthew); his siblings, Robert Simpson, Marvin Simpson, Ronnie Simpson, Juanita Willis and Linnie Sutton; and his grandchildren, Nehemiah Simpson, Anabelle Simpson and Sawyer Simpson. He is also survived by other loving family members, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 1st 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home (3450 KY-11, Booneville, KY 41314). A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Brock Cemetery.
