Janis Elaine Ross Obituary
We announce the death of Janis Elaine Ross in Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away on July 7, 2026, at the age of 87. Janis will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Janis will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Janis will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Janis’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Arris Jack Colley and Ruby Nell Hewlett; her husband Ronald Ross; and her daughter Tracy Cathryn Tagmeyer. She is survived by: her son-in-law Craig Tagmeyer of Harlan; her grandchildren, Tyler Ross Zell (Erica) and Sarah Elizabeth Cahill (Joe); and her great grandchild Maddie.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Resthaven Cemetery (3000 State Hwy 840, Baxter, KY 40806).
