We announce the death of Lance Hall of Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away on October 16, 2026, at the age of 78. Lance will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Lance will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Lance will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Lance’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Hall and Sadie Hall; his wife Ida Hall; and his siblings, Ailene Hall Ritchie, Carlene Fincher and Carlos Gayheart.
He is survived by: his brother Colin Kelly Hall (Pearlie); and his nieces, Barbara Weaver, Margaret Weaver and Brenda Harrison. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Engle-Bowling Funeral Home (301 E Main St, Hazard, KY 41701). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
