It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mahala Ruth Napier of Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away on January 21, 2026, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Cager Miller and Fannie White Miller; her husband Steve Napier; her son Stephen Douglas Napier; and her sisters, Margie Miller Deaton, Barbara "Bobbie" Miller Fugate and Opal Miller.
She is survived by: her granddaughters, Heather Napier (Donald) of Hazard, KY and Paige Gay (Blake) of Chavies, KY; her great grandchildren, Brody Gay, Roczen Gay and Hayden Smith; and her siblings, Edna "Kitty" Smith of Grapevine, KY and Andrew "AJ" Miller of Busy, KY.
