It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Stephens of Hazard, Kentucky, who passed away on July 7, 2022, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Virginia Stephens to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Herman McAllister and Ibbie Stewart McAllister. She is survived by: her daughters, Susan Dianne Stephens of Hazard and Leigh Anne Stephens of Hazard; her husband Bruce Stephens Jr.; her sister Betty Ruth Wright (AC Wright); her close friends, Helen Holsclaw Smith, Bessie Chambers and Rosalind Smith; and her daughters, Justine Hill, Debbie Joseph, Tasha Baker and Hannah Inserra. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, special cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hazard Community & Technical College, Bruce & Virginia Jo Stephens Library Endowment Fund or Bruce & Virginia Jo Stephens Endowment Scholarship Fund for Part Time Students.
