He was predeceased by: his grandson Cameron Hoskins; his mother Dahlia Deaton Jackson; his grandparents, Matt and Lillie Deaton; and his mother-in-law Fannie Miller.

He is survived by: his wife Edna "Kitty" Smith; his children, Kimberly Hoskins, Karen Cooper (Claude) and Michael Smith (Shannon); his sister Brenda Stewart (Charlie); his grandchildren, Corey Hoskins (Polly), Katelyn Smith, Jalen Cooper, Peyton Cooper (Autumn), Connor Hoskins (Kristin) and Jaylon Adams; and his great grandchildren, Dylan Knight and Jaron Knight. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews.
