He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Watkins and Cassie Cole Watkins; and his sisters, Jewel Watkins, Velvie Prater, Flora Spaulding, Orie Watkins, Dorie Watkins, Opal Sparks and Agalean Helton.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Sturdivant Watkins; his children, Ruby Grisby of West Liberty, Cassie (Harold McCarty) of Salyersville and Joesph Watkins (Tracy Hughes); his nephew Wesley Watkins of West Liberty; his niece Vonda Bailey of Salyersville; his sisters, Donna Helton of Salyersville and Debbie Prater of Salyersville; and his sister-in-law Paula Jones of Arizona. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the Salyersville Funeral Home (694 Parkway Dr, Salyersville, KY 41465). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
