We announce the death of Bessie Caldwell of Helton, Kentucky, who passed away on October 8, 2026, at the age of 95. She was predeceased by: her parents, Charlie Short and Cordelia Caldwell Short; her husband Arnold Caldwell; her children-in-law, Sandra Kay Caldwell, Orville Lee Pate and Dan L. Johnson; and her siblings, Sallie Mae Wilson, Nettie Caldwell, Christine Daniels, Henry Short, John D. Short, Charlie Short, Jr., Eugene Short, Nelson Short and Carson Short.
She is survived by: her children, Phyllis Pate, Diane Johnson, Michael Caldwell and Charles Caldwell (Debra); and her grandchildren, Juston Pate, Lindsay Johnson Townsend, Chad Caldwell, Adam Johnson and Kristin Howard. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home (106 Cherry St, Pineville, KY 40977). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
