We are sad to announce that on July 14, 2025, at the age of 92, Franklin Lloyd Sawyer of Henderson, Kentucky passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Franklin Lloyd farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Franklin Lloyd is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sawyer and Rubenia Sawyer; his wife Bettye Sawyer; and his siblings, Bobby Sawyer and Martha Dean.
He is survived by: his children, Kim Smith (Jerry) of Henderson, KY, Lloyd D. Sawyer of Fishers, IN and Brent Sawyer (Amy) of Owensboro, KY; and his brother Silas Sawyer of Hebbardsville, KY. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home (629 S Green St, Henderson, KY 42420). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
