He is survived by: his wife Janet Hudgions Schmitt; his children, Erin Schmitt of Henderson, KY, Daniel Schmitt (Robin) of Gulf Port, MS and David Schmitt (Candice) of Lexington, KY; his siblings, Mary Winiger of Indianapolis, IN, Rose Vincent (Dave) of Seaford, DE and Eddie Schmitt of Mt. Carmel, IL; and his grandchildren, Madilyn Schmitt, James Schmitt, Ethan Schmitt and Collin Schmitt. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
