He was predeceased by: his parents, William Andrew Fruit and Mattie Trusty; and his siblings, Dorothy Barnes, Edward William Fruit, Eugene C. Fruit, Richard Fruit, Charles Fruit, Sara Jane Sirkle and Martha Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Norma; his children, Donna Madden (Charles) of Henderson, KY and Jeff Fruit (Teresa) of Sebree, KY; his grandchildren, Cory Agnew (Krista Smallwood), Brandon Agnew (Cierra), Rachel Cloutier (Chase) and Ryan Fruit (Ashley Gillespie); and his great grandchildren, Ashtyn Agnew, Owen Agnew, Eleanor Cloutier, Henry Cloutier and Caroline Cloutier.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home (629 S Green St, Henderson, KY 42420). A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
