He was predeceased by: his parents, Fredrick Dyess and Marie Dyess; his wife Shirley Harris Dyess; and his granddaughter Lily Anne Kitchens. He is survived by: his daughter Kassi Kitchens (David) of Henderson, KY; his brother Fredrick "Steve" Dyess of Wisconsin; and his grandchildren, Izabelah, Kayelann and Norah. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
