He is survived by: his wife Brenda Onyett Schaeffer of Henderson, KY; his sons, Brian Onyett (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ, Michael Kurtz (Dorinda) of Oklahoma City, OK, Shane Kurtz of Robards, KY, Scott Kurtz (Kristina) of Evansville, IN, Tony Kurtz (Colleen) of Alta Vista, KS, Martin Schaeffer II (Hazel) of Vero Beach, FL and Johnathan Kurtz of Henderson, KY; his daughter-in-law Michelle "Buffy" Schaeffer of Henderson, KY; his siblings, Peggy Schaeffer, Greg Schaeffer and Lyndsey Schaeffer (Michelle); his siblings-in-law, Tonya Dryhaupt and Charles Onyett; and his aunts, Linda Faulkner, Jennetta Martin and Annie Wagner. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
