He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Ashby and Mary Ashby (Tegethoff); and his siblings, John Ashby, Dorothy O'Daniel, Richard Ashby, Martha Duncan, Henry Ashby, Ben Ashby and Robert Ashby.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Ashby (Patmore); and his sons, Dale Ashby (Janice), Steven Ashby and Rodney Ashby. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
