He was predeceased by: his wife Wilma Bowman; his grandson Josh Shaw; his sister Cora Sandefur; and his parents, John Sherman Bowman and Rosa Mae Duncan (Davis).
He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Williams (Keith) and Beth Cummins (Ben); and his grandson Zachary Shaw. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
