He was predeceased by: his son Terry Lynn Smith; his siblings, Jessie Newman Smith, Alma Buckingham and Elizabeth Gilford; and his parents, Alford Smith and Lottie Hensley Smith.
He is survived by: his sons, Scotty Smith (Tracy) of Wingo, KY and Michael P. Smith (Nicole) of Hickory, KY. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Byrn Funeral Home (1020 Paris Rd, Mayfield, KY 42066). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
